Angela Hollander for School Board

Angela Hollander for Paso Robles School Board

I am dedicated to serving children and families and have deep roots in the Paso Robles Community. Coupled with my commitment to public education and history of collaborative partnerships, I believe I am uniquely suited to serve the District and community at this moment.

I would be honored to serve the community on the School Board.

Thank you for returning your ballot by April 18.

Lifelong Commitment to Children & Families

I am a Paso local and a parent. I have lived here over 20 years and am a mother of two children who attended Paso Robles Public Schools. I worked with the County Office of Education and First 5 SLO to establish the first Raising a Reader (early literacy) program in our county. I have volunteered on advisory committees in Paso Pre K-12 schools and local district initiatives:  Superintendent’s Parent Council, School Site Councils, and Measure H & T volunteer. Even in my retirement, I continue to volunteer with the PRHS College and Career Center.

I believe in the promise of public education as an integral part of our society. Public education not only allows students to thrive, but it creates the foundation for healthy communities.

I’m strongly committed to respectful and collaborative civil discourse between our school employees, community members, and the board.  I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and servant leadership, and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to support our local families.

Teachers, librarians, counselors, speech therapists, independent study, home school, adult school teachers, and credentialed nurses support Angela. Thank PRPE for your endorsement.

I am supporting Angela Hollander because she is the right person at the right time to fill this school board position. Angela’s lifetime commitment to children and families is evident in her work as a neonatal nurse and as the Manager of the Scholarship Program for the Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County. Angela has taken her expertise in scholarship work and volunteered at Paso Robles High School Career Center to help students with their plans for the next step in life. She revamped the entire application and is there two days a week to meet personally with students. She is emphatic, generous in spirit and her love for kids is evident in all the years that she has volunteered. I am asking you to join me in voting for the most qualified candidate.

Frank R Mecham, Former City Councilman, Mayor, County Supervisor

I would strongly recommend Angela Hollander in her run for school board. I’ve known Angela and John for many years and have found her to be dedicated and one who does extensive research on anything in which she’s involved. Angela would be a tremendous asset, to not only the students, but to the parents whose children attend Paso schools.

Patrick Sayne, EdD, CDR (Intelligence) USN Retired

I have known Angela Hollander for more than twenty years, first as a parent advocating for her son’s education, and ongoing as an involved and active community member. Over the last several years she has volunteered at Paso Robles High School in a variety of positions, most recently helping coordinate scholarship applications. Her work made the selection process for Rotary Scholarships and others much easier than it had been. Angela has the experience and balanced approach to things that would be a great benefit to Paso Robles JUSD. I know her focus will be, and always has been, on students and learning for all.

Julian Crocker, EdD, Former PRJUSD Superintendent, Former SLO County Superintendent of Schools, Veteran

I am pleased that Angela Hollander is a candidate for the Governing Board of the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District. I strongly support her candidacy. I have known Angela for over twenty years as she has been involved with the First 5 SLO Commission, The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County’s Scholarship Program and as a parent in the District. Angela has the leadership and collaborative skills which are required for this position. She understands that the role of the Board is to establish goals for the District, to review the progress of the District in meeting these goals and to hold the Superintendent accountable for these goals. She will be an advocate for all students. Angela will do her homework, vote fairly on issues, and encourage citizen involvement.

Mrs. Angela Hollander is a woman who clearly has heart and commitment to our community. She is always looking for ways to support students and their families, and that is evident in all her roles in our community. She is sensible, bright, and invested in all students’ success. Without reservations, I support Mrs. Hollander for the PRHS school board!

Bernhard H. Singsen, MD, MPH, USN Veteran

As a pediatrician who has spent 40 years caring for, and advocating for, children and families, it is a pleasure to strongly support Angela Hollander for election to the Paso Robles School Board.  Her career as a pediatric nurse, her decades-long commitment as a volunteer counselor for students at Paso Robles High School, and her 13 years of leadership of the high school student Scholarship Program at The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County are exemplary. She exhibits incredible energy, focus, and tenacity in order to maximize educational and career opportunities for all students.  Her deep, caring attitude, coupled with an extraordinary memory, are seen in her amazing recall of hundreds of specific students, and their accomplishments, even years later.  Her life has been about student education, and their career success. Her election will add a forward thinking, energetic, and hard working voice to the Paso Robles School Board.

Diego Ortega, PRHS Graduate, Cal Poly Student

Before meeting Angela Hollander, I was extremely worried about how going to college would be possible because I am from a low-income background with immigrant parents. Mrs. Hollander is always there to help students in their transition to college without expecting anything back. PRHS has many students like me, and they need a mentor to inform them that college is possible for everyone, no matter their background. She truly made a change for me and will hopefully keep changing the lives of many others.
